How do I enroll my child at St.  John Lutheran School?

  • Contact Principal Christopher Urquhart at 618-826-4345 or email curquhar@randolph.k12.il.us.
     

  • Complete an Enrollment Application – One can be sent to you, or you can download and print it here: Enrollment Application (PDF).
     

  • Receive approval from St. ’s Board of Education after the application is reviewed.

How much is tuition?
St. John’s Lutheran School follows a formula to determine the tuition on an annual basis.
Check our tuition page.                                                                                                              :

  • In April of each year, registration and tuition is set by the Board of Christian Education.
     

  • All families pay a registration fee in addition to tuition.
     

  • There is a discount for multiple children in the school.
     

  • Kindergarten students pay full tuition.
     

  • Families will be informed each May of the new tuition for the next school year.

Does St.  Lutheran School have a hot lunch program?

St.  Lutheran School provides a hot lunch for all children from preschool through eighth grade.

What are the school day hours?
Classes begin at 8:10 AM and run through 2:40 PM. Students are expected to arrive no earlier than 7:30 AM and should be picked up no later than 4:00 PM.

What are the dates of vacations and days off?
The 2006-7 school calendar will soon be available for download here.

Is there an  After School Care program available?
St.  currently provides after school care for students preschool through grade 6. Call the school office for details.

How do I get my child to and from school?
St.  Lutheran School and Chester District 139 provides bus transportation before and after school through SWIBCO Bus Service. Other students are transported by parents or walk.

Does St  Lutheran School participate in any sports?

St.  is a member of the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) and a member of the Okaw Valley Conference.

 In the fall we offer boys baseball and girls softball, during winter we play  boys and girls basketball and offer cheerleading, and in the spring we participate in boys and girls  track.

What can St. John’s Lutheran School offer my child in the area of technology?

The area of technology is one area that is considered a great strength at St. John  Lutheran School.
 

  • Each classroom has a number of computers.
     

  • In addition, St  features a computer lab with 22 computers.
     

  • A wireless high-speed internet connection gives us internet access.
     

  • The school has two digital cameras which are used by the students for presentations and other assignments.
     

  • The teachers are continually being trained in the latest aspects of using technology in the classroom.
     

Do students take standardized tests?
St.  participates in the Stanford testing program. The 4-8th Graders take the tests in the spring of the school year.
