St. John is recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education. The following subjects are taught in our school of thought and our school:
Religion, Reading and English Math, Music, Computer Skills, Art, Social Studies, Spelling, Science, Spanish, and Physical Education.
Admission and Enrollment Policies
Children who enroll in kindergarten must be five years old before September 1. Enrollment is based on the satisfactorily completion of the previous grade and ability to achieve satisfactorily at the grade level in which the child applies for enrollment.
Physical examinations are required by state law for all students upon enrollment in Preschool, Kindergarten, and Grade 5. Students entering Illinois schools for the first time are also required to have a physical examination. Dental exams are required by state law for all students in grades kindergarten, grade 2, and grade 6.

All parents by virtue of their children attending St. John Lutheran School are members of our local P.T.L.
St. John offers a class "A" type of hot lunch each day of school. The program meets Federal and State requirements.
Public School Unit No. 139 provides bus transportation for children in grades Kindergarten through Grade 8 who live in the Chester School District.
Tuition and registration fees are set on a yearly basis.
Tuition fees may be paid monthly or annually.
Registrations are held in the spring and the fall.
